The setting

The Seetal valley,
at its quietest

Our hotel is located in Hitzkirch, in the Canton of Lucerne, in the beautiful Seetal valley between Lake Baldegg and Lake Hallwil.

Lake Baldegg

The Baldeggersee is only a few minutes away, perfect for walks along the shore and for swimming on a warm afternoon.

Lake Hallwil

Roughly seven kilometres from the house, the Hallwilersee offers scenic trails and boat tours across the water.

Church of St. Pankratius

Right beside the hotel. First founded around 1084, rebuilt in Baroque style between 1679 and 1684, and expanded again in 1914 and 1915 to give it today's elegant appearance. It is a cultural landmark with nearly 1,000 years of history.

Excursions

Worth the day trip

Mount Pilatus

One of the best known excursion destinations in Central Switzerland. Mountain scenery, hiking trails and wide views over the lakes below make it a memorable day out, and an easy one to combine with a stay in the valley.

Lucerne

Historic charm on the shore of its own lake. The Chapel Bridge, the old town, the museums, the restaurants and the shopping are all a short journey away, and the quiet of Hitzkirch is waiting when you come back.

History and culture

Hitzkirch has a long history of its own, in its buildings, its churches and a cultural landscape shaped over centuries. The traditions of the Michelsamt region are the authentic Central Switzerland visitors come looking for.
